McInnis and Walker Garner All-C-USA Academic Honors

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - While their play on the field this season has been exceptional both Todd McInnis and Taylor Walker were rewarded today for their work in the classroom as they named today to the Conference USA All-Academic Team announced by the league office.
McInnis, who has shined on the field this season with three C-USA Pitcher of the Week selections, carries a 3.65 GPA in Management. He is one of three repeat selections on this years All-Academic team as he also earned a spot on the 2008 team.
He leads C-USA with a 2.91 ERA and a .215 batting average against while posting six wins this season.
Walker has already garnered academic honors this season with an All-District selection from CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine, he carries a 3.65 GPA in sports management.
He has started every game this year at second base while hitting .361 through the regular season with seven home runs and 50 RBI.
Southern Miss returns to actions this Wednesday as it begins play in the C-USA Baseball Tournament. The Golden Eagles enter the tournament as the No. 2 seed and play Memphis at 11:00 a.m.
