Pauline Love Named Gillom Trophy Finalist

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss senior Pauline Love was named as one of three finalists for the annual Cellular South Gillom Trophy, Monday, which recognizes the top women's basketball player in the state of Mississippi.
Joined by seniors Alexis Rack of Mississippi State and Bianca Thomas of Ole Miss as the other two finalists, the trio gained the nod as the top three players in the state for the second consecutive year. For Love, it was her third time being named a finalist.
In her final season for the Lady Eagles, Love garnered her third consecutive first-team All Conference USA honors on the strength of 18.3 points and 12.8 rebounds per game. She collected 21 double-doubles during the campaign which ranks tied for No. 1 nationally, while her rebounding average is second in the country and scoring average ranks 32nd.
The finalists and their coaches are expected to be in attendance on Mon., March 29, when the trophy recipients are announced at the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum in Jackson, Miss. A 5:30 p.m. reception will be followed by the formal awards program at 6:30 p.m.
