Southern Miss Closes First Round of Lady Jaguar Invitational

Mobile, Ala. - The Southern Miss women's golf team sits in 11th-place after one round of the USA Lady Jaguar Invitational. The tournament is hosted by the University of South Alabama and is played at Azalea City Golf Club.
Play was halted midway through the second round due to rain and lightning in the area.
The Lady Eagles shot a 325, 35-over par. However, they are just seven shots back of sixth-place. Florida International leads the tournament at 13-over par, followed by Troy (+14) and Stetson (+15).
Senior Samantha Holt shot a six-over par 78 to sit in a tie for 24th-place. Junior Virginia Espejo is in a tie for 27th-place after shooting a 79. Freshman Vicky Correa and sophomore Sandra Sohlberg each shot an 83 to tie for 56th-place. Senior Amy Roberts rounded out play for the Lady Eagles, shooting an 86 to finish in a tie for 70th-place.
Senior Samantha Holt is in a tie for 25th-place after shooting a four-over 76. Senior Amy Roberts finished with a five-over par 77 to sit in a tie for 34th. Junior Virginia Espejo (82) is in a tie for 76th, and freshman Vicky Correa (86) is in a tie for 84th.
The second round resumes tomorrow at 8 a.m. CT followed by the final round.
