Southern Miss Finishes Mobile Bay Intercollegiate in 16th-Place

Mobile, Ala. - The Southern Miss men's golf team finished in 16th-place at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate, played at Magnolia Grove Crossings Golf Course.
The Golden Eagles finished 48-over par, five shots back of Akron for 12th-place
Senior Alex Park and redshirt senior Paul Apyan led the team at 12-over par in a tie for 52th-place after shooting his second straight 74. Senior Wes Carter finished in a tie for 62nd at 13-over par. Redshirt sophomore Derek Plucienski finished 14-over in a tie for 66th-place and junior Freddie Janneck rounded out play for Southern Miss in a tie for 94th-place.
Ole Miss won the team competition at 13-over par. Illinois State was one shot back in second-place, and Louisville finished in third two shots back.
Kent Bulle of Middle Tennessee State and Jack Hiluta of South Alabama were the co-winners of the individual competition at three-under par.
Southern Miss returns to action March 8-9 at the Louisiana Classic, hosted by Louisiana-Lafayette.
