Team Notes
*Today's captains were defensive back Chico Hunter, offensive lineman Cameron Zipp, wide receiver Johdrick Morris and defensive lineman Anthony Gray.
*Today's attendance was 32,606.
*Southern Miss improves to 8-5 all-time against Houston and 5-0 in games played in Hattiesburg. It is the first time they reached eight wins since 2006.
*Head Coach Larry Fedora is now 14-9 all-time in conference games 8-4 in conference home games.
*Southern Miss' 59 points are a season-high and the most since scoring 70 against UAB in 2008.
*It is also the most points scored against Houston in 13 meetings.
*The Golden Eagles have scored 30 or more points in each of the last 10 home games and 110 of their last 12.
*Including the two overtime against UAB, Southern Miss has scored in the last 22 quarters and two overtime periods.
Offensive Notes
*Senior center Cameron Zipp started his 37th consecutive game and 40th overall.
*Southern Miss' 642 total yards is a new team record, surpassing the 633 yards versus Louisiana-Lafayette in 2008.
*Junior Austin Davis was 24-of-31 for 293 yards. It is his 20th career 200-yard passing game.
*Davis also ran 17 times for 11 yards. It is his second career 100-yard rushing game.
*Davis connected on touchdown passes of 52 yards to junior Kelvin Bolden and 13 yards to senior Deon Hodges. The 52-yard touchdown pass to Bolden was Davis' longest touchdown pass of the year and Bolden's longest touchdown reception of his career.
*Hodges' touchdown reception was the first of his career.
*Davis has 16 touchdowns on the year, which ties him for fifth-most in a single season, and 49 for his career.
*Bolden has six touchdowns on the year.
*Davis also had touchdown runs of one, two, one and 10 yards. He has 10 rushing touchdowns on the year and 21 for his career.
*It is Davis' second multi-touchdown game of the year and fourth of his career. He had three rushing touchdowns against Marshall.
*Freshman Kendrick Hardy rushed for a career-high 205 yards on 26 carries. It is his third 100-yard game of the season.
*It is the first time a Golden Eagle ran for 200 yards since Damion Fletcher rushed for 260 yards against UTEP in 2008.
* Hardy had touchdowns of 17 and one yard. He now has seven on the season. It is also his second multi-touchdown game of the year.
*Hardy's 60-yard third quarter run was the longest of his career.
*Sophomore Tracey Lampley's 53-yard first quarter reception was a career-long.
*Sophomore Quentin Pierce's 31-yard reception in the first quarter was his longest of the season.
Defensive Notes
*Junior Cordarro Law recorded two sacks, giving him six on the year and 18.5 for his career.
*Junior Kendrick Presley recorded his first career interception in the fourth quarter.
*Under Fedora, Southern Miss has now forced at least one turnover in 34 of 37 games.
Special Teams Notes
*Junior Danny Hrapmann connected on a 22-yard field goal in the second quarter. It is his 23rd field goal of the year, tying the single season record with Darren McCaleb in 2005.
*Hrapmann's eight extra points give him 46 on the year, breaking Darren McCaleb's (2007) single-season record.
*Hrapmann now has 115 total points, breaking the Southern Miss kick scoring record held by Darren McCaleb, who had 107 points in 2005.
