Team Notes- Team Captains were senior defensive end Roshaad Byrd, junior linebacker Tim Green and senior defensive back Chick Hunter. Southern Miss won the toss and deferred to the second half.
- Fedora is 3-0 in his career vs. UCF and Southern Miss is 5-1.
- Southern Miss has now outscored their opponents 100-44 in the first quarter this season. The Knights outscored Southern Miss 14-3 today.
- Southern Miss has forced at least one turnover in each of the last seven games.
- Southern Miss did not score 40 points for the first time in the last six games. They have scored at least 40 points in eight of the last 11 games.
- With today's win Southern Miss has had nine straight seasons with at least seven wins.
- The win also marks the 15th time the Golden Eagles have finished with at least a .500 record in Conference USA.
- Today's victory also snapped UCF's 11-game win streak over Conference USA opponents.
- The win also snapped a 10-game losing streak over ranked opponents. The last time Southern Miss beat a ranked opponent was on November 20, 2003 vs. No. 9 TCU in Hattiesburg.
- Southern Miss had not beat a ranked opponent on the road since September 16, 2000 at No. 13 Alabama.
Offensive Notes
- Offensive lineman Cameron Zipp made his 36th consecutive start today.
- With 21 completions today QB Austin Davis passed Jeff Kelly (198) and moved into fifth-place all-time for completions in a season with 201.
- Southern Miss rushed 35 times today, the first time in the last seven games they have not had at least 40 rushes.
- Johdrick Morris hauled in his fourth TD pass of the season in the second quarter, a five-yard reception.
- Kelvin Boldin hauled two TD passes in the game, a 23-yard strike from Davis in the second quarter and a 26-yard pass.
- Receiver DeAndre Brown returned after missing six games and caught three passes for 66 yards, including a season-high 53-yard reception.
- Brown hauled in his 24th career TD and his third of the season. The 24 career TD's is second all-time for the Eagles.
- Davis threw a season-high four TD's in the game,which ties his career-high for a single game. He also had four vs. Rice on October 18, 2008.
- Davis has now thrown for 47 career TD passes, which is fifth-place all-time for Southern Miss.
- Davis threw for over 200 yards for the 19th time in his career which is second place all-time behind Jeff Kelly who had 22.
Defensive Notes
- Alex Walters intercepted a pass in the first quarter, his second consecutive game forcing a turnover.
- Justin Wilson intercepted a pass in the second quarter, the 12th of his career and fourth of the season.
- Jamie Collins tallied his first solo sack of the season in the third quarter. He has 1.5 on the season now.
- Cordarro Law recorded his fourth sack of the season in the fourth quarter.
Special Teams Notes
- Hrapmann hit a 31-yard field goal in the first quarter. He has now had at least one field goal in all 10 games this season.
- Hrapmann is now 22-of-24 in field goals and a perfect 38-for-38 in PAT's this season.
- Hrapmann needs only one more field goal this season to tie the school record of 23 field goals in a season set by Darren McCaleb in 2005.
