Men's Tennis Player Ranked in Preseason

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Men's tennis player Patricio Alvarado is ranked among the nation's best at No. 67 according to the ITA (Intercollegiate Tennis Association) preseason rankings.

Alvarado, a sophomore, completed his first season at Southern Miss with a record of 27-8 that included a 15-4 record playing at No. 1 singles during the spring. He was named Conference USA Freshman of the Year and a second-team All-Conference USA selection. He finished the 2009 season ranked No. 114.

Alvarado will be competing in the UVa Ranked Plus One Invitational, Sept. 25-27, in Charlottesville, Va.
