Women's Cross Country Team Captures Azalea City Classic Title

MOBILE, Ala. - The Southern Miss women's cross country team picked up from where they left off by winning the Azalea City Classic team title Saturday.
Southern Miss' women placed four of the top 10 finishers, including the top five, to score 30 points and claim their second straight win. South Alabama finished runner-up with 55 points and were followed by Southeastern Louisiana in third with 63 points.
Setting the pace for the Golden Eagles was freshman Krista Moylan who covered the 5,000-meter course in 19:44.8. Junior Zuna Portillo-Rodriguez placed fourth with a time of 20:05.8, while freshman Stephanie Ledgerwood completed the race in 20:06.4 to take fifth. Rounding out the scoring for Southern Miss were freshmen Jocelyn Lockhart seventh with a time of 20:11.9 and Kara Moylan who finished 12th with a time of 21:03.5. LaSheika Dinkins ran a time of 23:38.2 to round out the Golden Eagle runners.
