Kameron Brunty Earns Freshman All-American Honors

Tucson, Ariz. - Southern Miss freshman outfielder Kameron Brunty becomes the eleventh Golden Eagle player in the last eight seasons to earn Louisville Slugger Freshmen All-Americans honors as chosen by Collegiate Baseball.
Brunty joins current Golden Eagles Todd McInnis (2008), Brian Dozier (2006), Michael Ewing (2006) and James Ewing (2006 at Arkansas) in the freshman All-American fraternity.
Brunty has been a staple in the Southern Miss outfield this season starting 58 games and leading the Golden Eagles with 75 hits for a .347 average. He has blasted seven home runs while hitting four triples and nine doubles for a .523 slugging percentage.
Defensively he has recorded six assist from his corner outfield spot which leads all Golden Eagle outfielders this year.
A native of Pensacola, Fla., Brunty will return to his home state to play in the school's fist NCAA Super regional this weekend at the University of Florida.
