IRVING, Texas - Just one day after his best performance of the season, Southern Miss starting pitcher Todd McInnis was named the Conference USA pitcher of the week.
McInnis had one of his best outings in his brilliant sophomore season Sunday at Memphis, striking out a career high 11 hitters, while allowing only four hits in eight innings of work without walking anyone.
He allowed only five runners to reach base all game, facing only four hitters over the minimum in eight complete innings. He allowed only one run, a solo home run in the eighth inning, while picking up his seventh win of the season.
This is the first time in McInnis' career he has been selected as the C-USA Pitcher of the Week and second time this season a Golden Eagle pitcher has been honored by the league office.
McInnis shares the C-USA Pitcher of the Week honor with UCF's Caleb Graham. Memphis infielder Jacob Wilson was selected Hitter of the Week.
