Golden Eagles Close Out Reunion Intercollegiate in 11th-Place

Madison, Miss. - The Southern Miss men's golf team shot 33-over par in the final round of the Reunion Intercollegiate to finish in 11th-place. The tournament was hosted by Ole Miss and was played at the Reunion Golf & Country Club in Madison, Miss.
Southern Miss shot a final round 321 to finish with 933 strokes.
Senior Rocky Cleland and redshirt junior Paul Apyan tied for 28th-place at 15-over par. Both Cleland and Apyan finished with a 79.
Junior Tyler Sparks finished with a 19-over par 82 in a tie for 45th-place. Redshirt freshman Freddie Janneck shot an 81 to close 21-over par in a tie for 50th-place, and junior Wes Carter tied for 72nd-place, 32-over par, after a final round 82.
Arkansas' Andrew Landry won the individual competition, closing with a one-under par 71 to finish the tournament at one-under. He was the only golfer to finish the tournament under par. Adam Hofmann of Vanderbilt took second-place, finishing two-over par, and LSU's John Peterson finished six-over in third-place.
No. 29 LSU won the team title at 25-over par, three shots ahead of No. 19 Arkansas. Vanderbilt took third-place at 36-over par. No. 30 Ole Miss closed in fourth-place at 38-over par. North Florida finished +50 in fifth-place, while Auburn took sixth with 53-over par. Mississippi State earned a seventh-place finish, with 57-over par.
Southeastern Louisiana finished in eighth-place at 59-over par, followed by UNC-Greensboro and UAB (+63), Southern Miss (+69), Louisiana Tech (+87), Memphis (+88), South Alabama (+91), and Jackson State (+104).
Southern Miss returns to the links Apr. 19-21, when they travel to Sorrento, Fla. for the Conference USA Championships, hosted by UCF.
