Men's Golf Earns 10th- Place at Squire Creek Intercollegiate

Choudrant, La. - The Southern Miss men's golf team took home a 10th-place finish at the Squire Creek Intercollegiate, played at Squire Creek Country Club. The tournament is being hosted by Louisiana Tech.
The Golden Eagles shot 22-over par, one shot behind ninth-place Jacksonville State.
Junior Freddie Janneck led the Golden Eagles by tying for 19th-place at three-over par. Senior Wes Carter tied for 44th-place at nine-over par. Junior Tyler Hillis and senior Brent Hobbs finished in a tie for 47th-place at 10-over, while redshirt sophomore Nick Brown finished 14-over par to close in a tie for 64th.
New Orleans won the team competition at 10-under par. Southeastern Louisiana took second-place at one-under par. Middle Tennessee was three-over par in third-place. Rice took fourth-place at five-over par. Sam Houston State finished 15-over in fifth. Louisiana Tech and South Alabama tied for sixth at 18-over par, while Stephen F. Austin took eighth at 19-over par.
Jacksonville State earned ninth-place at 21-over par, followed by Southern Miss (+22), Arkansas-Little Rock and the Louisiana Tech Blue Team (+23), Arkansas State (+32), North Texas (+35), UNC-Greensboro (+44) and Troy (+56).
The Golden Eagles return to the links Oct. 19-20 when they travel to Memphis, Tenn. for the Memphis Intercollegiate.
