* Captains for Southern Miss were defense back Andre Watson, defensive back Chico Hunter, linebacker Korey Williams and wide receiver Gerald Baptiste.
* Southern Miss falls to 3-3 on the year. The Golden Eagles have lost their last three games.
* Southern Miss is now 18-9-1 all-time against Louisville, and 6-6-1 all-time in Louisville.
* The Golden Eagles also falls to 29-20-1 against current Big East conference schools.
* Southern Miss has now lost four straight games to Louisville, dating back to 2000.
* Redshirt junior Martevious Young made his second career start at quarterback.
* Young set career-highs, completing 22-of-30 passes for 229 yards.
* Young's 36-yard first quarter completion to DeAndre Brown was the longest completion of his career.
* Southern Miss is now 5-4 in non-conference games under head coach Larry Fedora.
* The Golden Eagles suffered their first loss under Larry Fedora when leading at the half. They are now 8-1 all-time.
* Senior running back Damion Fletcher ran for 86 yards on 19 carries.
* Fletcher now has 4,744 yards on the career, moving him into second-place all-time in Conference USA history, passing UCF's Kevin Smith (2005-07).
* Fletcher also moved into 26th-place in NCAA history.
* Fletcher's one-yard touchdown in the second quarter gave him five touchdowns on the year and 41 for his career.
* The touchdown also gave Southern Miss its first lead in the last three games.
* Senior running back Tory Harrison's 13-yard touchdown was his third touchdown of the year and 17th of his career.
* Sophomore wide receiver DeAndre Brown tied a season-high with 85 receiving yards.
* The Golden Eagles held a 16-7 lead at the half. It was their first halftime lead since holding a 20-10 advantage over UCF.
* Senior defensive back Andre Watson's second quarter interception was his first of the year and fourth of his career.
* Southern Miss has now forced a turnover in 17-of-19 games in the Larry Fedora era.
* Junior placekicker Justin Estes hit field goals of 21, 36 and 32 yards. He now has connected on seven consecutive field goals, the longest streak of his career.
* Louisville's 90-yard scoring drive in the third quarter is the longest scoring drive given up by Southern Miss this year.
* Senior tight end Leroy Banks' 29-yard first quarter reception tied his season long.
