Men's Golf Announces Signing of John Gregory Joseph

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss men's golf coach Jerry Weeks announced the signing of John Gregory Joseph of Valdosta, Ga., to a national letter-of-intent for the 2008-09 season, Tuesday morning.
Joseph, at 5-10, was a standout golfer for the Valwood School, helping them capture the 2008 Georgia Independent School Association Region 3-AA Championship. He shot a 71 to win individual medalist honors for the third consecutive season. He also led the
Last fall, Joseph captured the Southeastern Junior Golf Amelia Island Junior Classic, played at Amelia Island Plantation in Amelia Island, Fla., posting rounds of 76 and 72 to win the title by three strokes.
"John Gregory has had a lot of experience playing at the junior level and in national tournaments," said Southern Miss head coach Jerry Weeks. "I think he can step right in and help immediately."
Joseph becomes the first signee for the 2008-09 season.
