Southern Miss Completes First Week of Bowl Preparations

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss football team worked out for approximately two hours inside Carlisle- Faulkner Field at M.M. Roberts Stadium Sunday afternoon to complete their first week of practice for the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl.
Today completed the third of twelve practices before playing their seventh consecutive bowl game in two weeks at the Louisiana Superdome.
"We had a good practice today," Head Coach Larry Fedora said. "All three practices this week have been good and allowed us to get a lot of work with the younger guys. Now we can shift gears and start concentration more on Troy when the guys return after taking their finals this week."
Southern Miss worked out in full pads for the third consecutive day in cool conditions and will not return to the practice field until Friday, December 12 because of final exams held this week on campus.
The Golden Eagles leaned this weekend that they will face Sun Belt Conference Champions Troy University in this years nationally televised New Orleans Bowl held on December 21.
Tickets for the game are $40 for sidelines and $20 for students and can be purchased through the Pat Ferlise Athletic Ticket Office on West 4th St., from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday, over the phone at 1-800-844-TICK (8425) or online at SouthernMiss.com. The priority ticket deadline is Thursday, Dec. 11, at 5 p.m.
