Southern Miss Department of Athletics Announced New Golf Singee

Hattiesburg, Miss. - The Southern Miss Department of Athletics announced the signing of Tyler Sparks of Belmont, Miss., to a national letter of intent and grant and aid for the 2006-07 academic year. This marks the fifth overall signee for the men's golf program.
Sparks was a standout golfer for Coach Jody McClung at Belmont High School. He had an outstanding prep career, being named to the all-state golf team all four years. Sparks was selected a 2A State Medalist for the 2005 and 2006 seasons and a district golf medalist for the 2004 and 2006 seasons.
In 2006, Sparks also posted Top 10 finishes in the Greenwood Invitational and the Back Acres Invitational.
This year's signees include Wesley Carter of Birmingham, Ala., Freddie Janneck of Madison, Miss., Rob Hudson of Fayetteville, Ark., and Alexander Park of Ithaca, N.Y.
