Golden Eagle Track Teams Have Solid Showing at Drake Relays

DES MOINES, Iowa - A selected group of Southern Miss track and field athletes competed at the Drake Relays and turned in solid performances.
Junior Tanika Liburd won the long jump competition with a jump of 20'6.50". Senior Raquel finished fourth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.59.
Liburd also recorded a time of 12.26 in the 100 meters and Erica Alston ran a time of 12.41.
Sophomore Hana Prudilova finished eighth in the javelin with a throw of 151'10". Freshman Simona Costache was eighth in the triple jump with a jump of 40'6.75" and teammate Aaliyah Shareef recorded a jump of 39'10.50".
The women's 4x200-meter relay team finished fourth overall with a time of 1:37.13 and in the 4x400-meter relay team ran a time of 3:46.48. The women's 1,600 sprint medley relay team ran a time of 4:00.93.
Ahmed Abdelzaher finished second in the high jump with a jump of 6'6.75".
The men's 1,600 sprint medley relay team finished seventh with a time of 3:27.72, while the 4x400-meter relay team ran a time of 3:15.64. The 4x200-meter relay team recorded a time of 1:28.41.
