Isabela Ross Earns Runner of the Week for Second Time This Season

NEW ORLEANS- Sophomore Isabela Ross has been named the Sun Belt Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the second time this season, the league announced Wednesday.

"Izzy has worked hard this season, dedicating countless hours to her training. Her unwavering determination and commitment make her so deserving of this recognition again," said coach Gibson.

Ross distinguished herself as the sole top-ten scorer for the Black and Gold during the recent Southern Showcase hosted by Jacksonville State in Huntsville, Ala. She secured a seventh-place finish, clocking an impressive time of 16:52.30, marking a remarkable nine-second improvement from her previous personal best. Notably, her performance also replaced the program's second-best 5K record, which she had previously held from last season's Chile Pepper Festival (17:01.70).
