Southern Miss senior track and field athlete Raquel Washington won the preliminary heat in hurdles with a time of 13.35 at the Texas Relays at the University of Texas in Austin. She also finished with a time of 13.24 in the finals, marking the nation's seventh-best time with that finish, and also helped post a school-record, and C-USA season-best and a fifth nationally, time of 44.00 as part of the second leg of the 4x100-meter relay team.
For her performances, Washington was also named C-USA Outdoor Co-Athlete of the Week.
