Baseball Ranked As High As No. 20 in Latest Polls

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss baseball team is ranked No. 20 in the nation by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.

Online publications such as the Rosenblatt Report has the Golden Eagles ranked No. 20 and SEBaseball.com ranks Southern Miss No. 21.

After a 4-1 week, including a midweek win against Louisiana-Monroe and a weekend sweep of Buffalo, the Golden Eagles moved up four spots from last week's ranking of No. 24.

Rice (15-5) is No. 4in the nation and Tulane is tied for No. 13. Other ranked teams on Southern Miss' schedule include No. 8 Mississippi State (11-0), No. 17 Wichita State (17-2), No. 29 Ole Miss (10-6) and Alabama and South Alabama are receiving votes.

Southern Miss travels to Alabama on Wednesday, March 15, at 6:30 p.m., before coming home to host Troy for a weekend series, on March 17-19. Friday's game starts at 6:30 p.m., Saturday's at 2 p.m., and Sunday's at 1 p.m.
