Southern Miss Golf Teams Open Respective Spring Seasons Monday

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss men's and women's golf teams open their spring seasons on Monday, competing in the Rio Pinar Intercollegiate and the Baja Invitational, respectively.
The men's team will compete in the Rio Pinar Intercollegiate, held at the Par 72, 6,978-yard Rio Pinar Country Club in Orlando, Fla., on Monday and Tuesday. Participating teams will compete in 36 holes on Monday and a final round of 18 on Tuesday.
The 18-team field also includes host UCF, Davidson, Furman, Lamar, Louisville, Memphis, Mercer, Michigan, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Nevada, South Alabama, South Florida, Tulane, Texas-Arlington, UNC-Wilmington and Wichita State.
The women's squad travels to Ensada, Mexico, to take part in the Baja Invitational at the Bajamar Resort. Southern Miss is co-hosting the event with Northern Illinois University. Other teams in the field include, Nebraska, Middle Tennessee State, Marshall, Eastern Kentucky and Brigham Young.
Teams will play 36 total holes on Monday, followed by the final round of 18 on Tuesday.
