Women's Basketball Team Travels To Louisiana-Monroe

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- - The Southern Miss women's basketball team hits the road for a contest at Louisiana-Monroe at 7 p.m., on Tuesday. This is the first of two road games this week.
The game will be broadcast over WXHB-FM 96.5 with the "Voice of the Lady Eagles" Jason Baker providing play-by-play action with former coach Kay James as the color analyst.
Southern Miss (3-3) is coming off an 81-76 win over Eastern Kentucky, winning its 15th Lady Eagle Classic title. The Lady Eagles placed three players in double-figure scoring led by Emer Foley with 21 points, followed by Amber Eugene and Kendra Reed with 19 points apiece. Liz Biland grabbed a team-high 13 rebounds
Foley leads the team in scoring and rebounding at 20.3 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. Eugene is averaging 16.6 points and Reed is averaging 15.3.
As a team, Southern Miss is averaging 69.3 points and 44.2 rebounds per game while shooting 44.8 percent from the field and 73.5 percent from the line.
Louisiana-Monroe (5-1) is coming off a 55-51 win over Texas-Pan American in the CenturyTel Bobcat Classic. April O'Neal and Melanie Williams scored 13 and 12 points, respectively.
LaJeanna Howard leads the team in scoring, averaging 11.2 points while Nedra Winston leads the team in rebounding at 5.2.
As a team, the Warhawks are averaging 63.5 points and 38.2 rebounds per game, while shooting 38.2 percent from the field and 68.7 percent from the line. ULM is forcing its opponents into 23 turnovers per game
Following Louisiana-Monroe game, Southern Miss plays its second road game at Wisconsin on Dec. 1, with a tip time of 7 p.m.
