Hattiesburg, Miss. - The Golden Eagles competed today in the second and final day of the Southern Miss Fall Invitational, recording two wins in doubles action.
Domagoj Anic and Markus Wessinghage defeated UAB's Hanns Spangenberg and Tim Bauer, 8-5, while Will Thames and Andrew Poole won against Kruno Despotovski and Thomas Weiss of UAB.
In other doubles action, Dylan Mezey and Callen Frayincheaud lost to Adrian Tollstam and Alex Emery from UAB.
In singles play today, Anic lost to South Alabama's Jack Baker, 6-1, 6-3, and Mezey went 0-1 with a loss to robber Hodel (USA), 7-6(5), 6-4.
While playing in the No. 3 spot for Southern Miss, Poole was defeated by Marck Sramek of South Alabama. Frayincheaud took a loss to South Alabama's Craig Dunne, 6-2, 6-2.
Also playing singles, Wessinghage and Hood went 0-1 on the day. Wessinghage lost to R.J. Nagel (USA), 6-2, 6-1, and Hood was defeated by Yoann Chartron (USA), 6-0, 6-4.
The Golden Eagles return to action next weekend when they compete in the Georgia Tech Invitational in Atlanta.
