Women's Golf Finishes 10th In Season-Opener LOUISVILLE, Ky.
The Lady Eagles finished the tournament with a 320-320-322--962 in the event. Georgia State took home team honors with a 304-291-299--894, while Kentucky (311-300-296--907) and host Louisville (292-320-303--915) finished second and third, respectively.
Freshman Johanna Kristiansson was the low scorer for Southern Miss in the three-round tournament, finishing with a final round 78 to shoot 237 for the tournament, tying for 28th overall. Junior Nicole Mackey also fired a final-round 78 and tied for 31st overall with a total of 238. Senior Ashlea Deener and sophomore Lina Jorneskog both tied for 50th with totals of 248 apiece. Helena Backlund finished with a 251 overall, tying for 60th.
Georgia State's Lisbeth Meincke took home medalist honors with a 1-under 215, while first-day leader Erin Faulkner of Kentucky tied with Georgia State's Anna Scott for second overall at 2-over (218).
The Lady Eagles now take a week off before resuming play in the Wildcat Fall Invitational, scheduled to be held Oct. 1-2, at the University Club of Kentucky in Lexington, Ky.
