Southern Miss Golf Teams Open Respective Seasons Monday HATTIESBURG, Miss.
The men's team will compete in the Reynolds Gulf Coast Classic, held at the Port Armor Country Club in Atlanta, Ga., Monday and Tuesday. The tournament, which features seven other teams, was originally scheduled to be played at the Magnolia Grove Golf Club in Mobile, Ala., but was moved to the Atlanta location following Hurricane Katrina.
In addition to Southern Miss, co-hosts South Alabama and Mercer also will compete, along with Middle Tennessee State, Bowling Green, Southeastern Louisiana, Austin Peay and Florida Atlantic.
The women's squad travels to Louisville, Ky., to take part in the Napa River Grill Cardinal Cup at the Cardinal Club Golf Course. Along with the Lady Eagles, 12 other teams are competing in the event, including: host Louisville, UCF, Cincinnati, Coastal Carolina, East Tennessee State, Eastern Kentucky, Georgia State, James Madison, Marshall, Kentucky, USF and Wofford College.
Both tournaments are scheduled to feature two rounds on Monday with final round action slated for Tuesday.
