Rain Forces Game One To Be Postponed Until Saturday
The game will resume with Tulane batting in the top of the fifth inning with a 15-0 lead. The remainder of the full nine inning game will be completed first followed by a second nine inning game to follow 45 minutes afterwards. The stadium will be cleared out between games and the game two tickets will be used for the second game.
Tulane took a 4-0 lead in the second inning with a three-run homer to left field by Greg Dini and then a solo homer by Nathan Southard. RBI singles by Joe Holland and Matt Barket drove in both runs in the second inning to give the Green Wave a 6-0 lead.
Tulane then exploded for nine runs in the fourth inning to extend its lead to 15-0. A double down the left field line to score Emaus, a three-run homer by Scott Madden, a solo shot by Holland and then a grand slam by Brad Emaus accounted for the nine-run inning.
Green Wave starting pitcher Micah Owings gave up five hits to Southern Miss over four innings and struck out five batters. Trey Sutton and Brad Willcutt both were 2-for-2 for the Golden Eagles, and Tommy Manzella was 4-for-4 with three doubles for the Green Wave and
