Southern Miss Has Productive Day at the Track

? The Southern Miss track and field teams turned in solid performances at its own Southern Miss Invitational on Friday at the Southern Miss Track and Soccer Complex.
In addition to the track and field meet, the Lady Eagle cross country, track and field teams also continued the celebration of 30 years of women?s athletics. An All-30 Cross Country and Track and Field team was named today.
Five individuals registered regional qualifying times and marks during the day. Tanika Liburd won the long jump with a jump of 20?5?, posting a regional qualifying mark. Liburd also finished first in the 100 meters with a time of 11.81. Raquel Washington finished first in the 100-meter hurdles with a regional qualifying time of 13.80.
Conrad Chanove recorded a regional qualifying mark in the javelin with a throw of 214?2?.
In other competition, Erica Alston finished first in the 200 meters with a time of 25.00, Trinity McKinney was third with a time of 25.62 and Stephanie McCullum was fourth with a time of 25.64.
Jocelyn Young was first in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:01.97. She finished seventh in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.97. Becca Rop ran an 11:52.95 in the 3,000 meter steeplechase.
In the field events, Kate Juedes finished third in the high jump with a jump of 5?3? and Williams had a height of 5?1?. Shannon McGill had a height of 10? in the pole vault. Alston finished fourth in the long jump with a jump of 17?4?, McCullum finished fifth with a jump of 17?, and Lexi
On the men?s side, Edward Pearce finished sixth in the 100 meters with a time of 11.15. Marcus Polk was second in the 200 meters with a time of 21.47. Cornelius Duncan was fourth in the 400 meters with a time of 47.62. Marvin Pinnock was second in the 800 meters with a time of 1:54.36. C. J. Collier finished second in the 110-meter high hurdles with a time of 14.90 and Brad Pritchard was third with a time of 16.95. The 4x100-meter relay team finished first with a time of 41.07 and the 4x400-meter relay team was third with a time of 3:18.05.
Pritchard and Matt Marshall finished 1-2 in the jump with a height of 6?2?. Robert Pittman was first in the pole vault, jumping 13?11.75?. Marvin Lucas finished second with a jump of 23?4?. Jackson Sinclair finished sixth in the long jump with a jump of 20?10?. Ken Watson finished second din the triple jump with a jump of 45?10.75?. Maulies Pettaway finished first in the shot with a throw of 48?10.25?. Noah Bryant and Bobby Weakley finished 1-2 in the discus with throws of 162? and 138?2?, respectively. Pettaway also won the hammer with a throw of 142?6?. Lucas finished third in the javelin with a throw of 170?11?.
Southern Miss will compete in the Ole Miss Invitational on April 2.
