Southern Miss Men?s Tennis Team Blanks Southern, 7-0
Senior David Canudas, who holds the No. 98 ranking in the nation, defeated David Ensignia at No. 1 singles, winning the first set, 6-3, before Ensignia had to default the remainder of the match with an injury. Sophomore Juan Garzon picked up a win at No. 4 singles, defeating Justin Worthy in straight sets, 6-2, 6-0. Dylan Mezey defeated Christopher Williams 6-0, 6-3.
Southern Miss clinched the match with Christopher Rea defeating Alex Hidalog at No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-4.
Rounding out the singles were Marc Lux winning at No. 2 singles, 7-6 (3), 6-1 over Gregory Pipkins and Reid Bourgeois won at No. 5 singles in three sets, defeating Michael Date, 6-7, 6-2, 10-5.
Mezey and Lux won at No. 1 doubles, 8-1, over
Southern Miss returns to action on Feb. 5, at No. 12 LSU in
