UAB Wins Miss Louie Season Opener, Lady Eagles Finish Second
HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The UAB Lady Blazers led from start to finish in the 2005 Miss Louie Season Opener and came away with the victory, Tuesday at the Shadow Ridge Club.
The Lady Blazers, who had the top two finishers, shot 631 for the event, after posting a 313 and 318 over the two rounds. Southern Miss finished second with a 321-320--641, while Jackson State (323-337--660) was third. Mobile finished fourth with its 408-420--828.
For Southern Miss, Jennifer Keefe was the low scorer with a 79-77--156 and finished third overall, while Mia Davidsson (79-78--157) was fourth. Nicole Mackey was eighth with her total of 82-80--162, and Ashlea Deener (81-85--166) rounded out the team scoring with a tie for 10th-place. Jennifer Bodemann (87-87--144) also competed in the team competition. Two individuals competed for the Lady Eagles, including Natasha Vincent (86-80--166) and Lina Jorneskog (85-83--168), who finished T-10th and 12th.
UAB's Janey Deimling took home medalist honors with a 78-75--153.
