Ashley Boehnel Named Southern Miss Student Athlete of the Week

Boehnel, who received all-tournament honors at the N.C. State tournament this past weekend, averaged 16 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists a game in Southern Miss' three games last week.
She scored a team-high 18 points and finished with a rebound and three assists against Elon in the final game of the tournament. Against Liberty, she scored 12 points, pulled down two rebounds and finished with three assists. In Southern Miss' win against Mississippi State earlier in the week, Boehnel finished with 12 points, seven rebounds and had three assists.
For the season, she is the third-leading scorer on the team, averaging 14.0 points per game, fifth-leading rebounder (3.4) and is second on the team in assists (3.3).
