Lady Eagles Open Practice on October 14

The Lady Eagles will have a morning practice at 8 a.m., Oct. 15, in the
Southern Miss Head Coach Joye Lee-McNelis returns only five letterwinners from last year's team, including three starters. Heading the list of returnees are four sophomores, Shannon Stueber, Emer Foley, Liz Biland and Kelsey Gurganus. Stueber led the team in scoring and averaged 15.1 points, while Foley led the team in rebounding with a 6.6 rebound average. Biland led the team in blocks and field goal percentage. Gurganus was second on the team in assists.
McNelis welcomes six newcomers who bring outstanding credentials to the Lady Eagle program. The group includes one junior and five freshmen. The list of 2005-06 newcomers include Kendra Reed of Bay St. Louis, Miss., Ashley Boehnel of Kiln, Miss., Ashley Harrell of El Dorado, Ark., Amber Eugene of St. Rose, La., Rachael Manuel of Grayslake, Ill., and Kristin Chaney of Little Rock, Miss.
Southern Miss will showcase its talent in an exhibition game on Nov. 15 against the Houston Jaguars before opening the regular season against Southern Utah, Nov. 18, in
