Women?s Golf Resumes Play At Wildcat Invitational HATTIESBURG, Miss.
Along with Southern Miss and host Kentucky, participating teams include: UAB, Ball State, Birmingham Southern, East Carolina, Eastern Kentucky, Florida, Memphis, Miami, Mississippi State, Murray State, North Carolina, UNC-Greensboro and Richmond.
The Lady Eagles enter the tournament coming off a 10th-place finish in the season-opening Napa River Cardinal Cup golf tournament in Simpsonville, Ky. Southern Miss finished the tournament with a 320-320-322--962 in the event.
In the season-opener, Lady Eagle freshman Johanna Kristiansson was the low scorer, finishing with a final round 78 to shoot 237 for the tournament, tying for 28th overall. Junior Nicole Mackey also fired a final-round 78 and tied for 31st overall with a total of 238. Senior Ashlea Deener and sophomore Lina Jorneskog both tied for 50th with totals of 248 apiece. Helena Backlund finished with a 251 overall, tying for 60th.
