In the second half, the Lady Eagles cut the deficit down to 13, but were unable to get closer.
Emer Foley led Southern Miss with a career and game-high 27 points, to go along with 12 rebounds. Her double-double was the second of a Lady Eagle basketball player this season.

Shannon Stueber added 11, while Liz Biland and Dianca Jones each had 10 points.
Jennifer Jackson had 22 points for the Lady Pirates, while Viola Cooper and Samantha Pankey scored 21 and 18 points respectively.
Southern Miss returns to action Sunday, in a 12 p.m., game at Charlotte.
