Southern Miss Falls In First Game Of Lady Eagle Classic

The loss is Southern Miss? first home loss of the season, and only its third loss in 33 games in the Lady Eagle Classic, as it falls to 2-2 on the season.
?I think our youth showed tonight,? Head Coach Joye Lee-McNelis said. ?I think youth is an excuse, and we will not use it as an excuse all year. We turned the ball over a lot, and we didn?t take care of the ball. We didn?t play with a lot of focus or intensity.
Southern Miss got a quick lay-up from Kim Rigg to start the game. The Lady Eagles would lead by four on two occasions in the first half, and led by four 23-19 with 6:10 to play in the first half.
