Lady Eagles Host Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Mississippi Gulf Coast

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Southern Miss heads to the Mississippi Gulf Coast for a rare appearance in the Mississippi Coast Coliseum, hosting Arkansas-Pine Bluff at 6 p.m., on Friday.
Southern Miss (3-4) snapped a three-game losing streak with a 55-48 victory over Southern Illinois. In that game, Deondra Carter led Southern Miss with a season-high 20 points and Shannon Stueber scored 14 points. The Lady Eagles finished the game shooting 46.9 percent from the field and held their turnovers to under 20 (19) for the first time this season. Kimberly Rigg pulled down eight rebounds.
Stueber continues to lead the team in scoring, averaging 14.4 points, while Rigg leads the team in rebounding at 7.4 rebounds per game. The Lady Eagles are averaging 53.0 points and 37.7 rebounds. Southern Miss is shooting 41.3 percent from the field and 73.0 percent from the free throw line. The team has connected on 16-of-54 three-pointers. The Lady Eagles have a rebounding margin of +5.0.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff is 2-5 following an 89-41 loss at Ole Miss on Tuesday night. Whitney Price leads the team in scoring with 10.6 points per game, while Chekesha Johnson leads the team in rebounding at 6.6 boards per game.
Following the Arkansas-Pine Bluff game, Southern Miss returns to The Green House to host South Alabama on Dec. 19 at 2 p.m. This will be the final game before breaking for the Christmas Holiday.
