Lady Eagles Begin Three-Game Homestand

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Southern Miss returns home to host Southern Illinois on Dec. 11 at 5 p.m., beginning a three-game homestand. The Lady Eagles will try to snap a three-game losing streak in the process.
Southern Miss (2-4) is coming off a 63-46 loss at Louisiana-Monroe. In that game, Deondra Carter and Kimberly Rigg scored 12 points apiece and Shannon Stueber chipped in 10 points. The Lady Eagles shot 40.5 percent from the field and 75 percent from the line. Southern Miss out rebounded ULM, 44-27.
Stueber continues to lead the team in scoring, averaging 14.5 points, while Rigg leads the team in rebounding at 7.3 rebounds per game. The Lady Eagles are averaging 52.7 points and 38.5 rebounds. Southern Miss is shooting 40.3 percent from the field and 74.5 percent from the free throw line. The team has connected on 15-of-48 three-pointers. The Lady Eagles have a rebounding margin of +7.2.
Southern Illinois is 1-5 following a 69-53 win over Saint Louis, snapping a five-game losing streak. Danette Jones leads the team in scoring with 17.0 points, while Wendy Goodman leads the team in rebounding at 6.7 rebounds per game.
Following the SIU game, Southern Miss host Arkansas-Pine Bluff in a rare appearance at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum on Dec. 17 at 6 p.m., then return to The Green House to host South Alabama on Dec. 19 at 2 p.m.
