Boley Named Conference USA Defensive Player Of The Week
Michael Boley earned Conference USA Defensive Player Of The Week honors for the fourth time this season today. |
In the team?s last outing against UAB, Boley led the team in tackles, finishing with eight total (four solos and four assists), two tackles for loss, two sacks and two forced fumbles. With his two tackles for loss and two sack performance against the Blazers, Boley now has 53.5 tackles for loss in his career and 26 sacks, tying him with Cedric Scott (1997-00) for second place on the Southern Miss? all-time list. He also has 19 double-digit tackle games in his career.
On the year, Boley has a team-best 111 total tackles (62 solos, 49 assists), 14 tackles for loss, seven sacks, five forced fumbles, one interception and two pass breakups on the year.
Those numbers rank among the nation?s leaders. He stands No. 12 with 111 total tackles, No. 13 with 62 solos, and No. 2 with five forced fumbles. Boley also ranks No. 3 in Conference
