Lady Eagles Ninth After First Round In Beacon Woods Invitational

HATTIESBURG, Miss.? The Southern Miss Lady Eagle golf team sits ninth after the first round at the Beacon Woods Invitational at Beacon Woods C.C. in Bayonet Pt. Fla.

The Lady Eagles shot a team score of 305, as each player shot 80 or better.

Sophomore Mia Davidsson led the team with a two over par score of 72, good for eighth in individual competition.

Senior Jennifer Keefe shot 77, while junior Nicole Mackey and freshman Jennifer Bodeman carded 78?s. Junior Ashlea Deener finished with an 80.

Coastal Carolina shot a team score of 286 to take the first round lead. USF?s Fernanda Rivera tied the course and tournament single round record with her 67 today, taking the individual lead.

The three-day tournament, which is being hosted USF, will begin round two tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. (CT). Sunday?s final round will feature a shotgun start at 10 a.m. (CT).
