Lady Eagle Basketball Team Picks Up Transfer HATTIESBURG, Miss.

George, 5-11, played in four games for Louisiana Tech and averaged 4.5 points and 1.0 rebound at the beginning of this season. Last season, she played in 29 games, averaging 3.6 points, 1.2 rebounds and 1.1 assists in just over 11 minutes per game. She hit 34 percent of her field goals, 31 percent of her three-pointers and 78 percent from the free throw line. She scored in double figures in four games for La. Tech, including a career-high 15 points against Louisiana-Lafayette.
The Clinton, Miss., native played guard for Coach Gary Miller at Clinton High School, where she led the Lady Arrows to a 22-8 record in 2001-02. She averaged 31.5 points, 13.1 rebounds, 7.2 assists as a senior. She was named Miss Basketball in the state of Mississippi by the Clarion Ledger. She was one of 100 national finialists for McDonald's All-American. She was a three-time Dandy Dozen selection by the Clarion Ledger, first team all-state in 2001-02, second team all-state in 2000-01 and a two-time first team all-metro. She was listed as the 39th best high school senior by Micheal White's All-Star Girls Report (14th best point guard) as a senior.
