Jacksonville State Leads Raising Cane Classic After 36 Holes HATTIESBURG, Miss.
Austin Peay (286-274--560), South Alabama (284-280--564), Southeastern Louisiana (288-278--566), and Mississippi State (288-279--567) round out the top five teams after the first day.
Austin Peay's 274 in today's second round was the top team round of the day, and Jacksonville State's Matias Anselmo claimed first day medalist honors with an 8-under-par 69-65--134 total. South Alabama's Josh Lampley (69-67--136) is a stroke back. Southern Miss' leader after 36 holes is Ben Snow, who had rounds of 72-68--140 to finish in a tie for 11th.
In the morning round today, Middle Tennessee State's Blake Bivens and Southeastern Louisiana's Hugo Leon each recorded one of the rarest of golf feats, a hole-in-one, on different holes. Bivins made his ace on the 181-yard, par-3, 4th hole, as part of a 33 on the front nine and a four-under-par 67 first round total. Leon did the same on the 195-yard, 12th hole, as part of his three-over-par 74 first round.
The third and final round of the 54-hole event starts at 8 a.m., Tuesday, with teams teeing off both No. 1 and No. 10 tees.
