Golden Eagle Football Players Earn Spring Academic Honors
HATTIESBURG, Miss. ? The University of Southern Mississippi has released its academic honor rolls for the Spring 2003 semester and 27 members of the Golden Eagle football team were included on the list.
?We continue to be proud of our players' performance in the classroom," Head Football Coach Jeff Bower said. "Our players are dedicated to a comprehensive inseason and offseason regimen, and they have to manage their time carefully in order to be successful on and off the field. It's obvious they continue to do well in both areas, and we compliment them as well as our Student Academic Enhancement Program personnel for an outstanding performance during the spring semester.?
A total of 15 players earned President's List or Dean?s List honors, which recognizes students with a 4.0 or 3.25 grade point average or better on a minimum course load of 12 hours. The list was headed by Jason Jimenez of Orlando, Fla., (President's List).
Other Golden Eagles who were members of the spring 2003 Dean?s List include: Karone Champagne of Hahnville, La., Carlos Crusoe of Columbus, Miss., Micky D'Angelo of Gulfport, Miss., Robby D'Angelo of Gulfport, Miss., Addaryl Edwards of Amite, La., Derek Jacobs of Florence, Miss., Luke Johnson of Soso, Miss., Bradley Langley of Lavinia, Tenn., Christopher Langston of Magee, Miss., Jonathan Palmer of Tyler, Texas, Tyler Patterson of Clanton, Ala., Alex Ray of Vicksburg, Miss., Chris Vaughn of Marraro, La., and Corey Yates of Holly Springs, Miss.
Twelve players were also recognized on the Athletic Director?s Honor Roll, which recognizes student-athletes who achieve a minimum of a 3.0 grade-point average for a semester. Those Golden Eagles were: Terrell Browden of Baton Rouge, La., Mark Haulman of Vicksburg, Miss., Adam Hurst of Mandeville, La., Daron Lawrence of Orlando, Fla., Beau Maggio of DeRidder, La., Derrick Nix of Attalla, Ala., Terrell Paul of Troy, Ala., Rashad Smith of Canton, Miss., Chris White of Winona, Miss., Zac White of Gardendale, Ala., Javar Young of Olive Branch, Miss., and Larenzo Young of Purvis, Miss.
