Golden Eagle Tennis Teams Signs Two
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss Men's Head Tennis Coach Teddy Viator announced the signing of two tennis standouts, Dylan Mezey of Montreal, Quebec and Christopher Rea of Madison, Miss., during the spring signing period.
Mezey was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, Canda. He attended Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tenn., where he was a four-year letterwinner. He was ranked No. 1 in singles and doubles. Mezey was ranked 10th in Canadian Juniors 18s and under, No. 3 in Quebec single ranking and No. 1 in doubles.
Rea was rated as one of the top juniors in Mississippi. He currently is ranked No. 46 in the South in the 18s singles. He won a state title in singles while at Madison-Ridgeland Academy in 2001, and a doubles titles while at Madison Central last season.
"We are excited to sign Dylan and Christopher," Viator said. "They are both hard workers on and off the court and will make an immediate impact on the team."
