Baseball Ranked As High As No. 21 In Latest Polls
Hattiesburg, Miss. - The Southern Miss baseball team moved up one spot in Baseball America's Poll to No. 21, moved up four places to No. 21 in the National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Poll, moved up five places to No. 22 in the Collegiate Baseball's Poll and up three places to No. 27 in the USA Today Coaches Poll after posting a 4-0 record last week, including a win over New Orleans and a Conference USA weekend series sweep at Memphis.
Conference USA member Tulane was ranked No. 22 in the USA Today Coaches Poll and the NCBWA Poll. TCU was ranked No. 29 by Collegiate Baseball and No. 31 by the NCBWA. South Florida received votes in the NCBWA Poll.
The Golden Eagles travel to Starkville, Miss., for a two-game midweek series against Mississippi State on Tues.-Wed., Apr. 22-23. Southern Miss will host UAB for a three-game Conference USA weekend series at Pete Taylor Park/Hill Denson Field on Fri.-Sun., Apr. 25-27. Friday's game will start at 6:30 p.m., Saturday's at 4 p.m., and Sunday's at 1 p.m.
