Baseball Ranked No. 24 In Latest Writer's Poll
Hattiesburg, Miss. - The Southern Miss baseball team dropped one place to No. 24 in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association's Poll released today. The Golden Eagles were ranked No. 23 in Baseball America's Poll, moved up No. 29 in the USA Today Coaches Poll and dropped to No. 29 in Collegiate Baseball's Poll this week, after posting a 3-2 record last week, including two wins over No. 19 Tulane.
Other Conference USA teams also ranked were UAB (31st) and Tulane (33rd). East Carolina, TCU and South Florida also received votes.
Southern Miss (20-8, 7-2 Conference USA) returns to action Wednesday in Hammond, La., against Southeastern Louisiana at 6:30 p.m. The Golden Eagles travel this weekend, Apr. 4-6, to Cincinnati for a three-game Conference USA weekend series. Friday's game begins at 2 p.m., Saturday's at Noon and Sunday's at 11:30 a.m.
