Golden Eagle Tennis Drops Match to Brown
IRVINE, Calif. - The Southern Miss men's tennis team lost to the top seed, Brown, 6-1, in the 24th Annual UC Irvine Anteater Classic Thursday.
Brown, ranked No. 33 in the lastest ITA rankings, opened the match winning the doubles' points with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. J. J. Martin and Nicolas Carteret won at No. 3 doubles over Zach Pasanen and Kris Goddard, 9-7.
In singles competition, the Golden Eagles registered only one win at No. 1 singles, David Canudas defeated Jamie Cerretani (BU), 7-5, 2-6, 7-6.
The Golden Eagles dropped to 5-9 on the season, and will play Idaho at 9 a.m., Pacific time.
