Off The Tee, Final Day, at Chenal Trojan Cup
Day 4, the final round, March 25, 2003
We set out today to make a move for the trophy and failed to do so. It was a move backwards that we made and a very disappointing day of golf. Everyone has their bad days on the links, and today was ours.
The wind blew hard, and UALR handled it well by shooting the low round of the day. They looked like a motorcycle in a bicycle race, lapping the field the last day and shooting three-under-par for the tournament.
Congratulations to Matt Wofford for his solid play this week, shooting five-under-par for the tournament and finishing in a tie for third. Matt played well under some bad circumstances this week as he suffered a death in the family. He handled the situation like a true champion this week, and we are all very proud of him.
The ride back was very comfortable in our much talked-about RV. Everyone definitely knew when the Golden Eagles were making their entrance this week as we cruised around in the house on wheels. The only downfall is that it cost $75 to fill up that monster.
Today was a minor setback for the Golden Eagles, and we still have two tournaments left, including the conference tournament. We need to make one last stride, after playing great this spring, to make it to post season and that is our goal.
