It appears that six could be the lucky number to get into the 2003 Conference USA Tournament. The Lady Eagles are one victory shy of reaching that goal. Charlotte (10-2), Cincinnati (10-2), Tulane (9-3), DePaul (9-4), TCU (6-6), Saint Louis (6-6) and Marquette (6-7) have all clinched a berth in the tournament. Charlotte, Cincinnati, Tulane and DePaul will receive first-round byes. Battling it out for the final five spots are Louisville (5-7), Southern Miss (5-7), Memphis (5-7), Houston (4-8), East Carolina (4-8) and UAB (4-8). South Florida is 2-10.
Following the Charlotte game, Southern Miss heads to Greenville, N.C., for a game with East Carolina, closing out the regular season.
