Lady Eagles continue homestand, entertain McNeese State HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Southern Miss Lady Eagle basketball team continues its homestand, hosting McNeese State, in a 7 p.m. game, in Reed Green Coliseum. Southern Miss (2-0) is coming off a 68-59 victory over Louisiana-Monroe, Nov. 25. Freshman Michelle Poindexter recorded her first career double-double with a game-high 23 points and 13 rebounds. Lana Lewis scored 16 points and Deondra Carter added 12 points. Southern Miss shot an impressive 54.2 percent from the field for the game and controlled the boards for a 41-27 rebounding edge. McNeese State (1-1) is coming off an 80-69 win over Centenary in its home-opener, Nov. 25. Tara Abdul-Hadi led the Cowgirls with 23 points and eight rebounds. Regina Spivey scored 19 points and Clarissa Clark added 14 points. McNeese forced Centenary into 24 turnovers and shot 46.7 percent from the field. This is the seventh meeting between the two schools and McNeese State leads the series 5-1. The Cowgirls won the first two games before Southern Miss won its only game of the series in 1989. McNeese has won the last three meetings by a combined total of five points. Southern Miss will host Gardner-Webb, Dec. 1, at 7 p.m., in Reed Green Coliseum.
