Lady Eagles Continue Homestand, Host UL-Monore HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss women's basketball team continues its homestand, hosting Louisiana-Monroe, Nov. 25, in the second of seven-straight home games. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m. Southern Miss is coming off a 46-36 season-opening win against Troy State. Freshman Deondra Carter led the Lady Eagles with a game-high 19 points and seven rebounds. Lana Lewis added eight points. Southern Miss outscored Troy State, 21-2, over the first 13 minutes of the first half. The Lady Eagles held off a late rally by the Trojans, cutting the lead to nine points, with 5:31 remaining before scoring six unanswered points to preserve the win. Louisiana-Monore is coming off a 70-67 win over Tulane in its season opener. Nina Randle led the Lady Indians with 15 points and 14 rebounds while Michelle Biley and Mindy Livaudais scored 10 points each. The Lady Indians forced 29 Tulane turnovers. Following the UL-Monroe game, Southern Miss returns to action, Saturday, Nov. 29, against McNeese State in a 7 p.m. tip.
