Lady Eagles Host Premier Players

Lana Lewis and Lady Eagles host Premier Players

- The Southern Miss women?s basketball team will host the Premier Players on Thursday in Lady Eagle? lone exhibition contest of the 2003-04 season. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m., in Reed Green Coliseum.

The Premier Players' lineup features several former SEC standouts, including Tonya Washington and Brandi McCain of Florida and India Lewis of Arkansas. The team has played six games, losing to Florida State, Duke, North Carolina, Auburn, Georgia and Vanderbilt and defeating UNC Wilmington. They will play at Ole Miss prior to coming to Southern Miss.

Southern Miss will open the regular season on Friday, Nov. 21, when the Lady Eagles host Troy State in Reed Green Coliseum at 5:30 p.m. That contest is the first half of a women's-men's doubleheader which also will feature the Golden Eagle men taking on Alcorn State in their season opener at approximately 8 p.m. Tickets for both games are available at the Southern Miss Ticket Office in the Pat Ferlise Center or by calling toll free at 1-800-844-8425.
